1 Year Old! (and a few days)

Happy Birthday Kiko! What a first year this has been. Thinking back to this time last year, we really didn't know what to expect. We didn't know how Genki would feel with a little sister. We didn't know how we would handle a baby and an energetic toddler. Maybe even part of me thought we couldn't handle this.

But of course, we did, and we are. And you are a handful and Genki is a handful and the house is never quiet now...but it has been a very good year filled with smiles and hugs, screams and tears. Love and laughter. As parents, we have learned how to be a mama and papa for two kids (it's not easy, but it is fun).

And this time next year we're gonna be learning again, but more on that later.

The picture below is you in the middle of eating your own birthday cake. Mama made a very special cake of cocoa banana bread with fresh fruit and yummy tofu cream. You really dug into it and really like the tofu cream. At one point you were dipping your face into the cake. Very cute.

Now you are walking and really started to share your voice (that means scream and shout). You are started to wave hello and goodbye. You really like to play with your brother...and sometimes he is ok with that. Your hair is starting to take shape, and we are not sure where the color came from, but it's very cute. Light brown and a little curly. So yes, at the end of your first year you've grown so much. We knew at the beginning you had a strong personality, and yes, we see that now for sure.

So, 1 year old and already kind of the queen of the castle In about 6 months, that might change, but I don't think so. Something tells me you'll only get stronger. And that's great.
